In 2000, the population was 2686. giving it the 76th largest population among Connecticut. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 3.53 square miles (9.14 sq km ), of which, 3.08 square miles (7.98 sq km) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 sq km) of it is water, it is the 63rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Connecticut.
