Coffee County is a county located in Tennessee, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 48014. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 52134, It is 28th most populous county in Tennessee. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 434.46 square miles (1125.25 square kilometre), of which, 428.84 square miles (1110.69 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.62 square miles (14.56 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 53rd largest by total area among Tennessee's county.

For every 100 females there were 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males. Its population was estimated at 52134 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 48950 White, 1908 Black or African American, 166 American Indian, 528 Asian, 24 Native Hawaiian, and 558 from two or more races.
