Coconino County is a county located in the United States of Arizona. Coconino County had an official population of 116320 in 2000. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 128558, giving it the eighth largest population among Arizona's county. The county comprises an area of 18661.21 sq mi (48332.31 kmē), of which, 18617.42 square miles (48218.9 kmē) of it is land and 43.79 square miles (113.42 kmē) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Arizona.

As of the census of 2000, there were 116320 people, 40448 households, and 26946 families living in the county. The population density was 6.2 people per square mile (2.39/kmē), making its Arizona's fourth least densely populated county. There were 53443 housing units at an average density of 2.9 per square mile (1.12/kmē). The average household size was 2.8 and the average family size was 3.36. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 28.7% under the age of 18, 14.4% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.2 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 128558, The racial makeup of the county was 84928 White, 1769 Black or African American, 37793 American Indian, 1477 Asian, 159 Native Hawaiian, and 2432 from two or more races.
