Cocoa Beach City is a city located in Brevard County, Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 12482 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 11920, It is the 221st largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 15.04 mi˛ (38.95 sq km), of which, 4.89 square miles (12.67 sq km) of it is land and 10.15 square miles (26.29 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 119th largest by total area in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12482 people in the city, organized into 6529 households, and 3535 families residing in the city. The population density was 2552.1 people per square mile (985.37/km˛), it is 308th most densely populated city in Florida. There were 8709 housing units at an average density of 1781 per square mile (687.65/km˛). The average household size was 1.91 persons, and the average family size was 2.47 persons. In the city Age distribution was 12.2% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 22% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 34.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males. The median age was 53.6 years, The median age of males and females living in Cocoa Beach City was 51.3 and 56.4 years respectively. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 96.64% White, 0.62% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 1.07% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, 1.08% from two or more races and 0.3% Other races.
