Cochise County is a one of the county from Arizona's 15 counties, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of the county was 117755 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 129006, making it Arizona's seventh largest county. The county extends throughout a territory of 6218.77 mi˛ (16106.54 square kilometre ), of which, 6169.45 square miles (15978.8 square kilometre) of it is land and 49.32 square miles (127.74 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the eighth largest by total area in Arizona. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Arizona.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 117755 people, 43893 households, and 30786 families residing in the county. The population density was 19.1 people per square mile (7.37/km˛), it is the seventh most populated county in terms of population density. There were 51126 housing units at an average density of 8.3 per square mile (3.2/km˛). The average household size was 2.55 people, and the average family size was 3.07 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 26.3% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 26% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 129006, The racial makeup of the county was 88.9% White, 5.08% Black or African American, 1.33% American Indian, 1.89% Asian, 0.33% Native Hawaiian, and 2.47% from two or more races.
