Coal Center Borough is a one of the Washington County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 134 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 126, making it Pennsylvania's 55th smallest. The borough comprises an area of 0.14 mi˛ (0.36 sq km), of which, 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the ninth smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 134 people, 59 households, and 33 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1178.5 people per square mile (455.02/km˛), giving it the 462nd least densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 72 housing units at an average density of 654.5 per square mile (252.7/km˛). The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.79. In the borough Age distribution was 17.2% under the age of 18, 20.1% from 18 to 24, 20.1% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. The median age of the borough's population was 38.5 years, the median age of male residents at 31.3 and the median age of female residents at 42.8. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 96.27% White, 0% Black or African American, 0% American Indian, 0% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 3.73% from two or more races and 0% Other races.
