Clovis City is a city located in the Curry County, New Mexico, United States. It is home to over 32667 people (2000 census). The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 32352, It is the ninth largest by population in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The city spans an area of 22.49 square miles (58.25 kmē), of which, 22.39 square miles (57.99 kmē) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 kmē) of it is water, making it the 16th largest by size in New Mexico.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32667 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the city. The population density was 1458.9 people per square mile (563.28/kmē), it is the 20th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. There were 14269 housing units at an average density of 637.3 per square mile (246.06/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.57 persons, and the average family size was 3.12 persons.
