Closter Borough, New Jersey is a borough of the Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8383 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 8659, It is 194th most populous in New Jersey. The borough encompasses an area of 3.29 sq mi (8.52 square kilometre ), of which, 3.17 square miles (8.21 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 176th largest by total area.
