Clinch County, Georgia is a county located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 6878. The July 2008 population estimate is 7060, It is the 16th least populous county in the U.S. state of Georgia. The county encompasses an area of 824.17 mi˛ (2134.59 square kilometre ), of which, 809.29 square miles (2096.05 square kilometre) of it is land and 14.88 square miles (38.54 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the third largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6878 people in the county, organized into 2512 households, and 1823 families living in the county. The population density was 8.5 people per square mile (3.28/km˛), it is Georgia's least densely populated county. There were 2837 housing units at an average density of 3.5 per square mile (1.35/km˛). The average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 3.09 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.9% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 29% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.5 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 7060, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 4775 White, 2122 Black or African American, 56 American Indian, 31 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 76 from two or more races.
