Clearfield County is a county located in the United States of Pennsylvania. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 83382 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 82896, It is 36th most populous county in Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1153.8 square miles (2988.33 sq km), of which, 1147.32 square miles (2971.55 sq km) of it is land and 6.49 square miles (16.81 sq km) of it is water, making it the fourth largest by size in Pennsylvania.

The population density was 72.7 people per square mile (28.07/kmē), it is the 21st least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There were 37855 housing units at an average density of 33 per square mile (12.74/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. In the county Age distribution was 22.7% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.5 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 82896, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.84% White, 3.12% Black or African American, 0.14% American Indian, 0.39% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.48% from two or more races.
