Clear Lake City is a one of the Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 8161. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 7820, It is the 44th most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. It covers total area of 13.03 sq mi (33.75 kmē), of which, 10.43 square miles (27.01 kmē) of it is land and 2.6 square miles (6.73 kmē) of it is water, making it the 23rd largest by size in Iowa. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Iowa.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8161 people, 3461 households, and 2240 families living in the city. The population density was 782.4 people per square mile (302.09/kmē), it would be the 464th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Iowa.
