Clayton Town is a town located in the Concordia Parish, Louisiana, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 858 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 779, making it the 124th least populous in Louisiana. The town encompasses an area of 1.64 miē (4.25 kmē ), of which, 1.59 square miles (4.12 kmē) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 103rd smallest by total area among Louisiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 858 people in the town, organized into 400 households, and 290 families living in the town. The population density was 539.4 people per square mile (208.26/kmē), it is 237th most densely populated town in Louisiana. There were 361 housing units at an average density of 227 per square mile (87.65/kmē). The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.24. In the town the population was spread out, with 33.4% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 21.7% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 or older.
