Clatsop County is a United States county located in the United States of Oregon. The population of county in 2000 stood at 35630 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 37404, making it Oregon's 19th largest county. Its area is just over 1084.75 sq mi (2809.49 square kilometre), of which, 827.23 square miles (2142.52 square kilometre) of it is land and 257.52 square miles (666.97 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Oregon's ninth smallest county by total area. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Oregon.

As of the census of 2000, there were 35630 people in the county, organized into 14703 households, and 9450 families living in the county. The population density was 43.1 people per square mile (16.64/kmē), it is Oregon's 14th most densely populated county. There were 19685 housing units at an average density of 23.8 per square mile (9.19/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons. In the county Age distribution was 23.7% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 102.2 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.2 females. Its population was estimated at 37404 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 94.24% White, 0.95% Black or African American, 1.2% American Indian, 1.41% Asian, 0.18% Native Hawaiian, and 2.02% from two or more races.
