Clarksville City is one of the city of Johnson County, Arkansas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. It is home to over 7719 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 8579 in July 2008, It is the 45th largest by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Its area is just over 18.76 sq mi (48.59 square kilometre), of which, 17.98 square miles (46.57 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.77 square miles (1.99 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 24th largest by total area in Arkansas. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Arkansas.

The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 87.6% White, 3.46% Black or African American, 0.44% American Indian, 0.47% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 1.85% from two or more races and 6.15% Other races.
