Clarke County is a one of the county from Georgia's 159 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 101489. In July 2008, its estimated population was 114737, It is 18th most populous county in Georgia. Its area is just over 121.28 sq mi (314.11 square kilometre), of which, 120.79 square miles (312.84 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.49 square miles (1.27 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the smallest by size in Georgia.

The population density was 840.2 people per square mile (324.4/kmē), it would be the seventh most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Georgia. There were 42126 housing units at an average density of 348.8 per square mile (134.67/kmē). The average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 17.8% under the age of 18, 31.3% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 15.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 104.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 107.3 females. In July 2008, its estimated population was 114737, The racial makeup of the county was 79945 White, 28981 Black or African American, 282 American Indian, 3901 Asian, 72 Native Hawaiian, and 1556 from two or more races.
