It covers total area of 1252.51 mi˛ (3243.99 square kilometre), of which, 1238.38 square miles (3207.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 14.13 square miles (36.6 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth largest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.
