Clarion County is a one of the county from Pennsylvania's 67 counties, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 41765 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 39989, It is the 13th smallest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 608.95 sq mi (1577.17 square kilometre), of which, 602.44 square miles (1560.31 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.51 square miles (16.86 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 38th largest by total area among Pennsylvania's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 41765 people in the county, organized into 16052 households, and 10735 families living in the county. The population density was 69.3 people per square mile (26.76/kmē), making its Pennsylvania's 17th least densely populated county. There were 19426 housing units at an average density of 32.2 per square mile (12.43/kmē). The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.95. The population's age distribution was 21.6% under the age of 18, 15.4% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 39989, The racial makeup of the county was 39124 White, 426 Black or African American, 53 American Indian, 153 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 231 from two or more races.
