Claremore City is a one of the Rogers County, Oklahoma, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 15873 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 17458, making it Oklahoma's 26th largest. The city comprises an area of 12.27 sq mi (31.78 square kilometre), of which, 12.03 square miles (31.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 91st largest by total area among Oklahoma.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15873 people, 6283 households, and 4164 families residing in the city. The population density was 1319.4 people per square mile (509.42/kmē), it would be the 91st most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. There were 6784 housing units at an average density of 563.9 per square mile (217.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.43 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 26.7% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.1 males. The median age was 35.7 years, the median age of male residents at 34 and the median age of female residents at 37.2. The racial makeup of the city was 12015 White, 316 Black or African American, 2271 American Indian, 70 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, 1019 from two or more races and 178 Ohter races.
