Claremont City is a United States city located in the Sullivan County, New Hampshire, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Claremont City is home to 13151 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 12968 in July 2008, It is the tenth most populous in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. Its area is just over 44.09 square miles (114.19 square kilometre), of which, 43.12 square miles (111.68 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.96 square miles (2.49 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth largest by area in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

The population density was 305 people per square mile (117.76/kmē), making its New Hampshire's third least densely populated city. There were 6074 housing units at an average density of 140.9 per square mile (54.4/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.28 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 23.3% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.4 males. The median age is 38.8 years, the median age of male residents at 37.6 and the median age of female residents at 39.8. The racial makeup of the city was 97.67% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 0.33% American Indian, 0.62% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 0.92% from two or more races and 0.12% Other races.
