Clanton City is a city in the Chilton County, Alabama, United States. Clanton City had an official population of 7800 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 8836, It is the 71st largest in terms of population. It has total area of 20.35 square miles (52.71 square kilometre), of which, 20.32 square miles (52.63 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 47th largest by total area in Alabama.
