Clallam County is one of the 39 county of Washington, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The county has a population of 64525 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 71021, It is the 19th most populous county in the U.S. state of Washington. Its area is just over 2670.34 mi˛ (6916.15 sq km), of which, 1739.45 square miles (4505.15 sq km) of it is land and 930.89 square miles (2410.99 sq km) of it is water, making it Washington's fifth largest county by total area. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Washington.

As of the census of 2000, there were 64525 people in the county, organized into 27164 households, and 18068 families residing in the county. The population density was 37.1 people per square mile (14.32/km˛), it is 18th most densely populated county in Washington. There were 30683 housing units at an average density of 17.6 per square mile (6.8/km˛). The average household size was 2.31 people, and the average family size was 2.78 people. In the county Population was distributed with 22% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 22.8% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.6 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 71021, The racial makeup of the county was 63892 White, 662 Black or African American, 3603 American Indian, 1064 Asian, 122 Native Hawaiian, and 1678 from two or more races.
