Christian County is a county in the United States of Kentucky. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 72265 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 79820, giving it the tenth largest population among Kentucky's county. The county spans an area of 724.01 mi˛ (1875.18 square kilometre), of which, 721.32 square miles (1868.21 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.69 square miles (6.97 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the second largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 100.2 people per square mile (38.69/km˛), making it the 25th most densely populated county in Kentucky. There were 27182 housing units at an average density of 37.7 per square mile (14.56/km˛). The average household size was 2.66 persons, and the average family size was 3.12 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 28.3% under the age of 18, 15.8% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 16% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 106.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.6 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 79820, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 75.12% White, 21.5% Black or African American, 0.43% American Indian, 0.98% Asian, 0.22% Native Hawaiian, and 1.75% from two or more races.
