Choteau City, Montana


Choteau City is a city in the Teton County, Montana, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1781 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1691, making it the 54th most populous in Montana. The city extends throughout a territory of 1.79 sq mi (4.64 kmē ), it is the 133rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Montana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1781 residents, 807 households, and 465 families in the city. The population density was 994.3 people per square mile (383.9/kmē), making its Montana's 79th most densely populated city. There were 897 housing units at an average density of 501.1 per square mile (193.48/kmē). The average household size was 2.13 persons, and the average family size was 2.82 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 22.7% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 21.4% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 25.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.9 males. The median age is 45.9 years, The median age of males was 43.2 years, for females the median age was 48.3 years. The racial makeup of the city was 1673 White, 1 Black or African American, 52 American Indian, 2 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 49 from two or more races and 4 Ohter races.
