Chisago County is a United States county located in the United States of Minnesota. In 2000, the population was 41101. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 50257, It is the 18th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county extends throughout a territory of 442.49 square miles (1146.04 square kilometre ), of which, 417.63 square miles (1081.66 square kilometre) of it is land and 24.86 square miles (64.39 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 11th smallest by size in Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 41101 residents, 14454 households, and 11082 families in the county. The population density was 98.4 people per square mile (37.99/kmē), it is 13th most densely populated county in Minnesota. There were 15533 housing units at an average density of 37.2 per square mile (14.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.79 persons, and the average family size was 3.18 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 30.2% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.7 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 50257, The racial makeup of the county was 96% White, 1.15% Black or African American, 0.62% American Indian, 1.35% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.85% from two or more races.
