Chico City is one of the city of Butte County, California, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 59954. Its population was estimated at 83791 in July 2008, It is California's 118th largest by population . Its area is just over 27.76 sq mi (71.9 kmē), of which, 27.74 square miles (71.85 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 97th largest by total area among California.
