Cheyenne County, Kansas is a county of the United States of Kansas. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 3165 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 2742, It is Kansas's 16th least populous county. It covers total area of 1020.84 square miles (2643.96 sq km), of which, 1019.88 square miles (2641.48 sq km) of it is land and 0.95 square miles (2.46 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 15th largest by total area in Kansas.

For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 2742, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98.87% White, 0.15% Black or African American, 0.11% American Indian, 0.4% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 0.44% from two or more races.
