Cheyenne City is one of the city of Laramie County, Wyoming, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. It is home to over 53011 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 56915, It is Wyoming's largest by population . It covers total area of 21.19 square miles (54.88 kmē), of which, 21.11 square miles (54.67 kmē) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 23rd largest by total area among Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 53011 people in the city, organized into 22324 households, and 14174 families living in the city. The population density was 2511.4 people per square mile (969.66/kmē), making its Wyoming's third most densely populated city. There were 23782 housing units at an average density of 1126.6 per square mile (434.98/kmē). The average household size was 2.33 people, and the average family size was 2.93 people. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.9% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.7 males. The median age was 36.6 years, The median age of males was 35.1 years, for females the median age was 37.9 years. The racial makeup of the city was 46707 White, 1472 Black or African American, 430 American Indian, 561 Asian, 59 Native Hawaiian, 1426 from two or more races and 2356 Ohter races.
