Chewelah City is a one of the Stevens County, Washington, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 2186 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 2300 in July 2008, It is the 262nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Washington. The city extends throughout a territory of 2.94 sq mi (7.61 sq km ), it is the 269th largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington.

The racial makeup of the city was 2032 White, 1 Black or African American, 37 American Indian, 15 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 80 from two or more races and 20 Ohter races.
