Chevak City is a city located in Wade Hampton Census Area, Alaska, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The city has a population of 765 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 838, making it Alaska's 71st largest. The city has a total area of 1.17 mi˛ (3.03 sq km), of which, 1.14 square miles (2.95 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 17th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 765 people, 167 households, and 130 families residing in the city. The population density was 668.6 people per square mile (258.15/km˛), giving it the tenth most densely populated city among the Alaska. There were 190 housing units at an average density of 166.7 per square mile (64.36/km˛). The average household size was 4.58 persons, and the average family size was 5.38 persons. In the city Population was distributed with 51.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 11.5% from 45 to 64, and 4.1% who were 65 or older. The median age is 17.4 years, the median age of male residents at 17.1 and the median age of female residents at 17.6. The racial makeup of the city was 28 White, Black or African American, 692 American Indian, Asian, Native Hawaiian, 44 from two or more races and 1 Ohter races.
