Chesterfield City is a city located in the St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 46802 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 46064, making it Missouri's 12th largest. The city spans an area of 32.73 mi˛ (84.77 sq km), of which, 31.51 square miles (81.61 sq km) of it is land and 1.22 square miles (3.16 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 11th largest by total area among Missouri. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Missouri.

The population density was 1485.4 people per square mile (573.52/km˛), it is Missouri's 175th most densely populated city. The population's age distribution was 24.6% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 25% from 25 to 44, 29.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 or older. The median age is 41.8 years, the median age of male residents at 40.8 and the median age of female residents at 42.7. The racial makeup of the city was 91.3% White, 1.86% Black or African American, 0.12% American Indian, 5.56% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 0.74% from two or more races and 0.39% Other races.
