Chesilhurst Borough is a United States borough located in the Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The borough has a population of 1520 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the borough is 1909, making it New Jersey's 61st smallest. The borough extends throughout a territory of 1.72 mi˛ (4.45 sq km ), making it the 321st largest by size in New Jersey.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1520 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the borough. The population density was 885.8 people per square mile (342.01/km˛), giving it the 65th least densely populated borough among the New Jersey. There were 535 housing units at an average density of 311 per square mile (120.08/km˛). The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.32. Age range in the borough was well distributed with 22.9% under the age of 18, 7% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 30% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.6 males. The median age is 42.1 years, the median age of male residents at 41.4 and the median age of female residents at 42.9. The racial makeup of the borough was 37.37% White, 55.99% Black or African American, 0.2% American Indian, 0.33% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 3.22% from two or more races and 2.89% Other races.
