Cheshire County is a one of the county from New Hampshire's 10 counties, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 73825 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 77170, making it the sixth most populous county in New Hampshire. It is spread over 729.15 square miles (1888.49 square kilometre), of which, 707.4 square miles (1832.16 square kilometre ) of it is land and 21.75 square miles (56.33 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh largest by area in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

As of the census of 2000, there were 73825 people in the county, organized into 28299 households, and 18784 families living in the county. The population density was 104.4 people per square mile (40.31/kmē), it would be the sixth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. There were 31876 housing units at an average density of 45.1 per square mile (17.41/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. In the county Age distribution was 23.3% under the age of 18, 11.7% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 109.1 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 77170, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.18% White, 0.66% Black or African American, 0.31% American Indian, 0.9% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.91% from two or more races.
