Cherry County is a United States county located in the United States of Nebraska. In 2000, the population was 6148. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 5609, It is 51st most populous county in Nebraska. The county has a total area of 6009.54 sq mi (15564.64 kmē), of which, 5960.52 square miles (15437.68 kmē) of it is land and 49.02 square miles (126.96 kmē) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Nebraska.
