Chelsea City is a one of the Suffolk County, Massachusetts, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. The population of the city was 35080 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 41577, It is the 39th largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 2.48 sq mi (6.42 sq km ), of which, 2.19 square miles (5.67 sq km) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 56th smallest by total area among Massachusetts.

The median age was 31.3 years, The median age of males was 30.8 years, for females the median age was 32 years.
