Cheboygan City is a city located in Cheboygan County, Michigan, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Cheboygan City is home to 5295 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 4942 in July 2008, It is the 177th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 6.98 square miles (18.08 square kilometre), of which, 6.79 square miles (17.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 99th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The median age is 37.4 years, the median age of male residents at 34.9 and the median age of female residents at 40.1. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 4861 White, 27 Black or African American, 218 American Indian, 14 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 154 from two or more races and 20 Ohter races.
