Chattanooga City is a city located in the Hamilton, Marion and Rhea counties, Tennessee, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 155554 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 170880, It is the fourth largest by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city comprises an area of 143.17 sq mi (370.81 square kilometre), of which, 135.21 square miles (350.19 square kilometre) of it is land and 7.96 square miles (20.62 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the third largest by area in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Tennessee.
