Chase County is a county in the United States of Nebraska. The county has a population of 4068 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 3629, It is the 61st largest county by population in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The county extends throughout a territory of 897.63 sq mi (2324.85 sq km ), of which, 894.5 square miles (2316.74 sq km) of it is land and 3.14 square miles (8.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 21st largest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4068 people, 1662 households, and 1164 families residing in the county. The population density was 4.5 people per square mile (1.74/kmē), giving it the 26th least densely populated county among the Nebraska. There were 1927 housing units at an average density of 2.2 per square mile (0.85/kmē). The average household size was 2.39 people, and the average family size was 2.91 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 25.2% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 21.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.8 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 3629, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 3593 White, 7 Black or African American, 14 American Indian, 5 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 9 from two or more races.
