Charlotte County is a one of the county from Florida's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 141627 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 150060, It is 29th most populous county in Florida. The county encompasses an area of 859.12 square miles (2225.11 kmē ), of which, 693.6 square miles (1796.42 kmē) of it is land and 165.51 square miles (428.67 kmē) of it is water, it is the 33rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 150060, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 137073 White, 8952 Black or African American, 399 American Indian, 2018 Asian, 45 Native Hawaiian, and 1573 from two or more races.
