As of July 2008, the estimated population was 150060, It is 29th most populous county in Florida. The county encompasses an area of 859.12 square miles (2225.11 kmē ), of which, 693.6 square miles (1796.42 kmē) of it is land and 165.51 square miles (428.67 kmē) of it is water, it is the 33rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
