Charleston City, Kanawha County, West Virginia is a city located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the city was 53421 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 50302, It is West Virginia's largest by population . The city has a total area of 32.71 square miles (84.72 square kilometre), of which, 31.6 square miles (81.84 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.1 square miles (2.85 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the second largest by size in West Virginia. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in West Virginia.
