Chapin Town is a town located in the Lexington County, South Carolina, United States. The town has a population of 628 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 709, It is the 110th least populous in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is spread over 1.81 square miles (4.69 sq km), of which, 1.8 square miles (4.66 sq km ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 122nd smallest by total area among South Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 628 people in the town, organized into 249 households, and 193 families residing in the town. The population density was 349.6 people per square mile (134.98/kmē), giving it the 103rd least densely populated town among the South Carolina. There were 261 housing units at an average density of 145 per square mile (55.98/kmē). The average household size was 2.52 persons, and the average family size was 2.89 persons. In the town the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 33.9% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.3% who were 65 or older.
