Chambers County is a United States county located in the United States of Texas. Chambers County had an official population of 26031 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 29356, giving it the 93rd largest population among Texas's county. The county comprises an area of 871.99 square miles (2258.44 sq km), of which, 599.31 square miles (1552.21 sq km) of it is land and 272.68 square miles (706.24 sq km) of it is water, it is the 69th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Texas. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Texas.

The population density was 43.4 people per square mile (16.76/kmē), it is Texas's 74th most densely populated county. There were 10336 housing units at an average density of 17.2 per square mile (6.64/kmē). The average household size was 2.82 persons, and the average family size was 3.2 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 28.9% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 29356, The racial makeup of the county was 86.62% White, 10.95% Black or African American, 0.54% American Indian, 0.98% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.9% from two or more races.
