Chambers County is a county located in Alabama, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Chambers County had an official population of 36583 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 34424, making it the 34th most populous county in Alabama. It is spread over 603.11 square miles (1562.05 kmē), of which, 597.17 square miles (1546.66 kmē ) of it is land and 5.94 square miles (15.38 kmē) of it is water, it is the tenth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.

The population density was 61.3 people per square mile (23.67/kmē), it is the 28th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Alabama. There were 16256 housing units at an average density of 27.2 per square mile (10.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3.01 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.3 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 34424, The racial makeup of the county was 20973 White, 13051 Black or African American, 58 American Indian, 85 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 257 from two or more races.
