Challis City is a city located in the Custer County, Idaho, United States. The city has a population of 909 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 896, giving it the 87th largest population among Idaho. The city comprises an area of 1.8 square miles (4.66 sq km), of which, 1.78 square miles (4.61 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 58th largest by total area in Idaho.
