The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 51326, It is the 151st largest by population in the U.S. state of California. It has total area of 8.89 sq mi (23.02 sq km), of which, 8.62 square miles (22.33 sq km) of it is land and 0.27 square miles (0.7 sq km) of it is water, making it California's 367th largest by total area.
