Centre County is one of the 67 county of Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 135758. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 144779, making it the 23rd most populous county in Pennsylvania. The county encompasses an area of 1111.85 square miles (2879.68 sq km ), of which, 1107.53 square miles (2868.49 sq km) of it is land and 4.32 square miles (11.19 sq km) of it is water, making it the sixth largest by size in Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 135758 people, 49323 households, and 28501 families residing in the county. The population density was 122.6 people per square mile (47.34/kmē), it is the 36th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 53161 housing units at an average density of 48 per square mile (18.53/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 18% under the age of 18, 26.8% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.4 males. Its population was estimated at 144779 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 131324 White, 4517 Black or African American, 224 American Indian, 7069 Asian, 131 Native Hawaiian, and 1514 from two or more races.

Of which, percentage of enrollment student are in, 3.36% nursery or pri school, 2.15% kindergarten, 19.84% elementary school, 10.37% high school and 64.27% College graduate school.
