Cecil County is one of the 24 county of Maryland, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Cecil County is home to 85951 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 99926, making it Maryland's 13th largest county. Its area is just over 417.88 square miles (1082.3 kmē), of which, 348.13 square miles (901.65 kmē) of it is land and 69.75 square miles (180.65 kmē) of it is water, it is the seventh smallest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.

The population density was 246.9 people per square mile (95.33/kmē), it would be the 13th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Maryland. The population's age distribution was 27.7% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 99926, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 91495 White, 5831 Black or African American, 343 American Indian, 993 Asian, 28 Native Hawaiian, and 1236 from two or more races.
