Cathedral City City is a city located in Riverside County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 42647 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 52095, giving it the 179th largest population among California. It covers total area of 19.45 mi˛ (50.38 square kilometre), of which, 19.18 square miles (49.68 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 square kilometre) of it is water, making it California's 156th largest by total area.

The racial makeup of the city was 65.29% White, 2.74% Black or African American, 1.03% American Indian, 3.69% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, 4.11% from two or more races and 23.06% Other races.
