Catahoula Parish is a parish located in the United States of Louisiana. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Catahoula Parish is home to 10920 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 10522, making it Louisiana's sixth smallest parish. The parish encompasses an area of 739.43 mi˛ (1915.11 square kilometre ), of which, 703.65 square miles (1822.45 square kilometre) of it is land and 35.78 square miles (92.67 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 30th largest by total area in Louisiana.

The population density was 15.5 people per square mile (5.98/km˛), making it the third least densely populated parish in Louisiana. There were 5351 housing units at an average density of 7.6 per square mile (2.93/km˛). The average household size was 2.55 people, and the average family size was 3.02 people. In the parish the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 10% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 99.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 102 females. The July 2008 population estimate is 10522, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 70.23% White, 28.78% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.13% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.65% from two or more races.
