As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 57292 inhabitants. It is the 127th largest by population in the U.S. state of California. Its area is just over 14.75 square miles (38.2 sq km), of which, 14.43 square miles (37.37 sq km) of it is land and 0.32 square miles (0.83 sq km) of it is water, it is the 225th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.
