Cass County is one of the 53 county of North Dakota, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Cass County is home to 123138 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 139918, It is the largest county by population in the U.S. state of North Dakota. Its area is just over 1767.91 mi˛ (4578.87 square kilometre), of which, 1765.23 square miles (4571.92 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.68 square miles (6.94 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the tenth largest by total area in North Dakota.

The population density was 69.8 people per square mile (26.95/km˛), it is the most densely populated county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. There were 53790 housing units at an average density of 30.5 per square mile (11.78/km˛). The average household size was 2.32 people, and the average family size was 2.98 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 23.4% under the age of 18, 16% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.5 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 139918, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 131013 White, 2997 Black or African American, 2212 American Indian, 2075 Asian, 98 Native Hawaiian, and 1523 from two or more races.
